Luigi Benedicenti – Oltre la realtà

Ten years after the passing of Luigi Benedicenti (Chieri, 1948–2015), the exhibition Oltre la realtà offers a tribute to his work through a carefully curated selection of key paintings, tracing the most emblematic directions of his hyperrealist practice.

Hosted at the Accademia Vergnano in Chieri, the show brings together works from private collections and the family archive, providing an essential yet evocative reading of a pictorial language capable of transforming reality into images rich in atmosphere and suggestion.

Benedicenti’s precise and luminous painting gave form to a figurative world shaped by reflections, textures, and colour intensity. Sweets, fruits, and flowers — in his compositions — are elevated into sensory icons, suspended between memory and desire.

With an original and distinctive style, Benedicenti explored the relationship between perception and representation, pushing towards a vision that is both analytical and poetic.

Curated by Carlotta S. Benedicenti, Oltre la realtà invites viewers to slow down and rediscover, in the perfection of a painted panel, the silent enchantment of everyday life.
